More Origami

Four new origamis for your viewing pleasure!

First, a ladybug. I'm not too crazy about the 2D nature of this one. They can't all be winners.

Up next, a pelican.

And then, an owl. He doesn't stay upright and it makes me sad. Plus he's kind of got a lazy eye. Or two. Other than that he's cool.

And finally, a mouse. Those ears were so hard!

Bob Loblaw's Art Blog?

Bri told me to post my origami, so here I am, posting my origami.

Dog and Peacock, front.

Dog and Peacock, having a staring contest. Who will win?!

Origami Fox

Drawing an origami fox that Al made. It was good practice trying to draw straight lines. My trick is to zoom out really far on the canvas and that way I can get a really short stroke. Then I zoom in and clean up any curves.

New Medic drawing (In progress)

Wasn't happy with the last medic I drew, so I'm drawing a new one (sans hat).

Spray Bottle Sketch

Made a sketch of one of my gestures. The head is a little out of proportion to the rest of the bottle. Tried the cross hatch shading this time.

More gesture drawings

Early morning gesture drawings. I only spent about 30 sec. on each one, you're not supposed to spend more than that really. Just getting the shape and flow down.

Mug sketch

Here's the finished mug sketch. I used my pencil to figure out the proportions and angles. The shading wasn't great, but that's for another lesson. The hardest part about this was getting the handle in proportion to the rest.

Blind Contour

To sharpen hand eye coordination, you're supposed to try to draw (without lifting your pencil) a mug while only looking at the contours of the mug. This is called a blind contour. I did this by turning off my monitor and staring at the mug only. When I turned my monitor on this is what I found. Looks terrible.

Gesture Drawing

I've started doing some drawing tutorials from the SA Forums so now I'm going to be posting a bunch of boring stuff. But I think it's cool and I need the practice so I'm gonna post it here. The first thing is a gesture drawing of a mug, which should be really loose and fluid and meant to be a warm up.
